On September 15, 2024, the Russian State Drama Theater “A.P. Chekhov” opens a new season, an anniversary season! On Sunday, September 15, at 6:00 p.m., the audience is invited to enjoy the show “The Chekhov Machine”, based on the play by Matei Vișniec, directed by Petru Vutcarau, specially created on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Chekhov Theatre.
For the troupe of actors and for the employees of the theater the season started long before September 15 with very intense work. We are simultaneously preparing two premieres, which viewers will be able to see in the near future. One of them will become a gift and a very nice surprise for both the little ones and the adult spectators, who will be able to meet again with the youngest artists, trained in our performances – the members of the Spanish Dance Ensemble GLORIA-FLAMENCO.
Another nice surprise is the renovation of the Small Hall, which bears the name of Mrs. Nelli Kameneva, where we will again be able to welcome theater arts lovers, to watch a show in which only young actors will play exclusively, and the show will be dedicated to the young audience, although this passionate love story, full of cruelty and courage, could be watched by all viewers, regardless of age.
The Chekhov Theater does not live only in the present moment. He also looks to the future, and in this sense he has already started preparations for the winter holidays, by working on an unusual artistic program, as well as by decorating the theater building in the colors of the beautiful holidays that are approaching.
We also want to let you know that, in the new season, we will welcome the spectators in a renovated foyer. Where we rebuilt the parquet, installed new curtains and bought new banquettes.
