Memorial prayer

The action takes place in a Ukrainian village, narrated by a simple worker, local resident Tevye, destined to be born a Jew, a nationality undesirable to the Tsar. The hero has five daughters, whose destinies must be managed by a loving parent, wife, household, friends, and relatives. Life goes on as usual, but when trouble comes, open the gates!

The play not only explores the theme of interethnic relations, but also sharply develops a crisis of faith in the existence of God, true love, friendship, generosity, and political and human imperfection.

The uniqueness of “Memorial Prayer” also lies in the fact that it employs the entire cast. The numerous extras sometimes require prop masters, costume designers, and stagehands to create a realistic picture in scenes of a Jewish wedding or a village pogrom. You’ll also see actors skillfully performing traditional dances and learn authentically about Jewish traditions and culture. But the story won’t just be about sadness, loss, and grief. Viewers will have the opportunity to laugh until they cry at the subtle and sarcastic humor, and cry from empathy and compassion for the characters.
